NSW: Fare reimbursement a gimmick: Carr
SYDNEY, Jan 10 AAP - New South Wales Premier Bob Carr today labelled an opposition
call for commuters to be reimbursed if their train was running at least 15 minutes late
as a gimmick.
"Commuters don't want to be given reimbursement if a train is running 15 minutes late,"
Mr Carr told reporters.
"They want the train to run to within three or five minutes of the timetable and that's
what we're working hard to do with new money spent on rolling stock and on track and on
capital investment.
"I talk to a lot of commuters ... they're not worried …
