Small- and medium-size businesses can't escape technology problems any more than big companies, local computer consultants said. So the question becomes: Do businesses expand staff to deal with computer issues or outsource the work to professional firms?
More companies are choosing to outsource their technology work to consulting firms.
Known as IT-vendor management, the practice allows small companies to receive the specialized services bigger companies typically get from in-house IT departments.
