NSW: Latham election prompts flood of memebrs to Labor
SYDNEY, Dec 4 AAP - The election of Mark Latham as Labor's youngest federal leader
has prompted a rush of young people wanting to join the party.
Mr Latham replaced Simon Crean on Tuesday, beating former leader Kim Beazley in a leadership
ballot.
NSW Young Labor president George Houssos said today the ALP had been inundated with
calls from young people since Tuesday.
"Young people are lining up around the block to sign up and our website has also received
a record number of hits," Mr Houssos said.
