MELBOURNE, April 25 AAP - The main stories on Nine's 1800 news:

- 35,000 people have turned out for the Anzac Day dawn service in Melbourne's CBD.

- New RSL rules this year meant WWII veterans had to take part in the parade in vehicles.

- 6000 people have endured a frosty night at the dawn service in Gallipoli.

- In an unprecedented move, Prime Minister Julia Gillard spent Anzac Day in South Korea
recognising the sacrifices made by our diggers in a war she says has been forgotten.

- Australians have remembered the sacrifices made by Australian diggers at the battle
of Long Tan in 1966.

- In Thailand, Governor-General Quentin Bryce has led a service at Hellfire Pass, where
thousands of diggers built the Thai Burma Railway.

- Just under 90,000 people turned out at the MCG to see Collingwood take on Essendon.
